Jessie J – Who you are

This song brings back many different traumatizing but yet happy experiences in my life. This song was probably my favorite song throughout my recovery. ‘Who you are’ is very inspirational and its main focus is telling people to be themselves and that its okay to not be okay. one of my favorite parts of it is “It’s okay not to be okay… Sometimes it’s hard to follow your heart. Tears don’t mean you’re losing, everybody’s bruising, Just be true to who you are!”  I was struggling with depression and was in a very dark place in my life and i didn’t think it was okay to not be okay, I didn’t think that anyone else was going through the same things as me, i felt very alone and sad.

This song was a really big part of my recovery as well as a lot of her music, Jessie J is a very inspirational artist who can be successful without having to sing about drugs and murder and all the negative things in life, She writes music about positive things in life and things about how to bring yourself up. I recommend her music for people of all ages, not just teenagers because even adults have low self esteem and other self worth issues. So like i said things song would be great for people of all ages.

Happiness is a choice

Not everyone in the world is happy go lucky like many of us. Some people find it hard to get out of  bed in the morning because they feel that there isn’t really a point. Some people only see the bad in everything, and not the good in anything. Being a teenager in this generation is very difficult, trust me i know. But instead of only hindering yourself, figure out ways to bring yourself up, to motivate yourself, Because life is so much more valuable than many of us know.  Instead of dreading the days you live, Wake up and think about all the positive things in your life, think about the life you have ahead of yourself.

Theres many things you can do day to day to bring yourself up and keep your mind off of all the negative things going on in your life. Theres things like sports, hanging out with friends, joining other extra curricular activities at school and i’m sure there’s so many other things you could do as well.

I know what its like to have only negative things going on in your life, at least that’s what you think. For three years I only realized all of the negatives in my life, which made school and my life very very difficult. I stopped going to school for a good part of last year, the only time i went was during basketball season. Over the summer, i finally realized that i needed to actually do something with my life and do something about the fact that i only realized the negative, I decided to go to a different high school than all the other people around me because i noticed that they were the real reason i was so negative all the time, because they were too! Its almost impossible to be happy and enjoy your life when everything around you is so so sad, changing the people i hung around with and going out with friends and playing sports were the best decisions of my life, im so thankful that i got out of the path of negativity because who knows where id be with my life today.

People go through many of the same experiences as others, but how we deal with it all depends on the person. Being bullied is a very common thing that happens to many of us, certain people blow it off, but others let it get to them and it just bugs them contentiously and they dont know how to deal with it, It bugs them day after day they start to get depressed, broken and emotionally vacant, People continue to bully the person but they become numb to the point that nothing bugs them, they cant tell if they dont care anymore or if they just dont feel anything.
